1. Study visit: “Kaunas: the Heart of Technological Innovations” (REGISTRATION CLOSED)
The study visit will bring you to one of the most important technological innovations hub in the Baltic states – Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) and KTU Santaka Valley.
KTU is among the biggest and leading technological universities in the Baltic Sea region. KTU Santaka Valley is the largest research and business cluster in Lithuania. It encompasses the world-class research laboratories, the establishment of which cost 43 million Eur.
During the visit, you will learn about the technological capacities of Santaka Valley as well as its activity model and achieved results. You will visit laboratories and innovation companies that operate there. Also you will hear a presentation about Kaunas University of Technology as well as the newly established Center for Smart cities and infrastructure there.
2. Study visit: “Kaunas Free Economic Zone: Ensuring Industrial Future" (REGISTRATION CLOSED)
Kaunas Free Economic Zone is one of the most successful investment attraction projects in Lithuania. The industrial development area of 534ha can offer land plots by the “plug and play” principle and tax incentives.
Starting with the first investor in the year of 2005, Kaunas FEZ has attracted more than 634 mln. EUR of investment. 70% of them – foreign investment. In the record year of 2012, the FEZ has landed 12 new investors, including companies such as Hella (30 mln. EUR), Hollister (50 mln. EUR) and Continental (95 mln. EUR).
During the visit you will learn not only about the activity model of the FEZ, its history and the present situation. The companies acting there will be introduced. Also a guided tour with a presentation to one of the industrial factories will be organized.
3. Study visit: „Modernist Heritage Regeneration" (REGISTRATION CLOSED)
Presentation of Kaunas City Municipality Heritage Programs, Successful Community Concentration, Dissemination of Heritage Values, European Heritage Label and UNESCO Application Initiatives (Planned visits to several Modernist heritage sites and meetings with experts / publicists / residents)
4. Study visit: „Collective Memory for creating Contemporary Urban Identity" (REGISTRATION CLOSED)
Introducing intercultural urban memory initiatives, art and cultural projects that highlight cultural diversity and promote the participation of ethnic minorities and other urban communities in urban identity development. All participants of the conference are invited to participate in the first CityTelling Festival of Kaunas - European Capital of Culture.

1. Sightseeing tour “Kaunas city tour” (REGISTRATION CLOSED)
Kaunas is the second largest Lithuanian city which is located at the confluence of two main Lithuanian rivers - Nemunas and Neris, surrounded by the hills and situated at the crossroads of the most important roads in Lithuania. The city has a stunning medieval Old Town that holds very important XIV – XVII c. objects. You will visit the Old Town and one of the first objects in the history of the city: Kaunas castle, Town Hall, Perkūnas (Thunder) house, Santaka Park. During this tour You will hear a lot about Kaunas – history facts, interesting and funny stories, legends.
2. Sightseeing tour“Guided tour in Pažaislis Monastery” (REGISTRATION CLOSED)
Pažaislis Monastery is one of the most beautiful baroque ensembles in Lithuania. It was built in 17th c. for the Camaldolese Monastery. In the southern part of the complex is a monastery officina where you will find an open sacred Pažaislis monastery ensemble museum. Enjoy the magnificent view of Kaunas Region Lagoon.
